Learning doesn't stop when the course ends. When Your Work Is Challenged in a Meeting is a one-page job aid employees can pull up before, during, and after a tense meeting, right when they need it the most. It turns the course's emotional intelligence strategies into quick, practical prompts, so the skills hold up under pressure on the job, not just in training.

The performance problem
Cross-functional meetings are where projects move forward or stall. When an employee's work is challenged in front of another team, a defensive or silent response can damage trust and slow decisions long after the meeting ends. Most emotional intelligence training explains the concepts but never asks people to use them under pressure.
The solution
Read the Room gives learners realistic practice in that moment, then helps them carry the skill back to their job. It covers the four domains of emotional intelligence: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness and Relationship Management.
Audience
[Individual contributors and new team leads] who represent their team in meetings with other departments.
What learners do
Self-check: rate themselves on eight statements across the four domains.
Branching scenario: as Maya, a project analyst, represent the team in a tense meeting with Operations and make three decisions.
Trust Meter: every choice raises or lowers a trust score that builds across the scenario. The manager's debrief message changes with the final score, and learners can replay to try another path.
Personal growth plan: choose a focus domain, a competency and one specific action, and map a relationship to strengthen. Their answers fill a printable My EI Plan.
Knowledge check: five graded questions, an 80% pass mark, and review and retry.
Supporting performance on the job
Training alone rarely changes behavior. The course comes with a one-page job aid, When Your Work Is Challenged in a Meeting, that employees can use before, during and after a tense meeting. The design document sets out how impact would be measured at all four evaluation levels, from learner reaction to business results.
Design decisions
Consequences, not right/wrong feedback. Each choice shows how colleagues react, so learners judge their response the way they would at work.
Visible, cumulative impact. The Trust Meter shows that relationships are shaped by a pattern of behavior, not a single moment.
Personalization. Learners' own answers build their plan and come back on the final slide as a commitment.
My role
